Sinclaire stated after the silent protest in explanation:

"I am a member of the women's and gender equality committee and despite me representing over 5 million people I am unable to take part in the co-ordinators meeting, where the committees schedule and de hondt points are redeemed".
Sinclaire made it clear that The EU was blocking democracy and said:
"This is a blatent form of undemocratic discrimination".
