Hi,

just for the record, as UKIP seems not to be very open or transparent about anything - the following document of undertaking was signed by each prospective MEP as an outline of their duties should they be elected.

It is a particularly amateur document and would not in my opinion have ANY validity under law - particularly as it is in direct conflict with The EU's diktats.

It can clearly be argued by UKIP that The EU's rules have no validity but it would make them look particularly foolish having used EU Law in The British Supreme Court to flout their legal responsibilities under British Law!

In that this so called agreement flouts the law as it pertains in Britain, as a member of The EU as sadly we are, then clearly the document has no legitimacy under law.

That it may be claimed that it was in some way 'A Gentleman's Agreement' would possibly to some extent stand up under law.

However it is very clear that no Gentleman could be expected to stand by the chav like behaviour of a leader who deliberately set out on a personal crusade of dictatorship and duplicity.

No Gentleman could expect a leader to use UKIP funds to give credibility and status to a Racist, Xenophobic, anti homosexual and violent group that was anti Judaism.

I believe it is specious to pretend to a 'Gentleman's Agreement' when it is a matter of public record that The Leader of UKIP has changed hands 3 times since and The Leader at the time of the first MEP honourably negotiating to legitimately set aside participation in The Pan EU Political EFD Group and thus participation in Section 6, is on record as duplicitous, dishonest and corrupt.

Clearly this document has no validity whatsoever.

MEP Code of Conduct

Our MEPs will be expected to maximise the use of their positions to fulfil the mandate for which they were elected, which is to promote UKIP's objectives as set out in the party constitution and manifestos. Our successful candidates must be a credit to the party throughout their 5 year term.

Our MEPs will be expected to

1. take up their seats in the European Parliament

2. set up an office in their region, funded from their parliamentary general allowances

3. give full support at all times to the branches in their region

4. be available for media appearances 7 days a week, often at short notice, antisocial hours and inconvenient places

5. submit to oversight and act on advice from the party regarding the use of parliamentary allowances and expenses, in order to pay scrupulous attention to the rules and to ensure that allowances are used in an appropriate manner

6. agree to pooling of group funds allocated to the UKIP group of MEPs from the parliamentary information budget (budget line 4000) in order to make the best use of these funds

7. remain as members of UKIP for the full 5 year term or otherwise retire from the parliament

8. provide substantial financial support to the central party out of income

9. work as a team with the other UKIP MEPs

Each MEP will decide the extent to which he/she will attend Parliamentary Committees, an important criterion for this judgement being the media coverage which this activity may not help to bring. While MEPs will attend most of the plenary sessions of the Parliament they will also be expected to spend a substantial proportion of their time in the UK.

Few of the remaining UKIP MEPs seem to give much credence to the document and presumably the three who have had the integrity to refuse to actively participate with the unprincipled views of The EFD members and have taken the action any Gentleman would and have withdrawn from the corruption.

Perhaps as a step towards professionalism UKIP's incompetent and crass leadership might consider rather more transparency and greater probity - Let us start with the FACT that the membership at Conference voted resoundingly against being members of a Pan EU Political Party Group such, of course, as The EFD which is largely active campaigners PRO-EU seeking changes and has NOTHING in common with the aims of the membership to LEAVE-THE-EU.

Secondly a clear accounting of MEPs income and expenses is long overdue. That there would seem to be ZERO accounting of such budgets as the 4000 and 6000 budget go a long way towards explaining why UKIP MEPs are seen as corrupt, hypocritical and dishonest - little wonder any 'Gentleman' would wish to leave such a shower and the maggots getting fat on the corpse of the Party they are destroying as the claque supporting the incompetent leadership as paid praise singers.

No agreement is valid under law if it commands that the participant shall act unlawfully. In this case, it being a 'Gentleman's Agreement' it can hardly vbe expected of any Gentleman to leap into the gutter by ANY agreement howsoere it may suit a small claque!
